With a new lower ground and ground level mall and expanded retail training space, an extension of the existing south west multi-level car park, upgrades to existing services infrastructure and construction of a new lower level deliveries entry, the project saw 220 tenancy movements and an increase in the number of tenancies from 410 to 530. PSG case Study wrote that Chadstone Shopping Centre is a two – level super-regional shopping centre located approximately 13 km south-east of Melbourne’s CBD. Chadstone, as it is commonly known, has had many redevelopments – Stage 33 includes over 500 tenants and a new glass roof structure. The Chadstone Shopping Centre Stage 33 project presented PSG Elecraft with an opportunity to embrace a new webbased maintenance manual program. The new web-based program required special training and collaboration with the web company.
PSG Elecraft worked collaboratively with other contractors and Centre Management on the embedded network system. This system enabled the head constructor to isolate power and reinstate power when necessary. It also has the ability to avoid delays in energising shops.
Importantly, the embedded network system assisted in making the project safer. It enabled the head contractor to distribute the power and avoid other contractors interfering with the main switches as can happen on larger sites.
