Influenced by the demands of modern lifestyle where multiple activities should be able to run simultaneously, require a home that can understand those needs. Bates Masi Architects build the Sam’s Creek Family Residence on a land area of 1 acre with building area of 6,500 sq. ft. at Bridgehampton, NY. To show the activity, arrangements of the house are made for transparency and divide the site as well as establish view corridors from front to back.
This modern home consists of a series of open boxes, each tailored to the architectural program that focuses on the views from the street and has independent audio, video, and climate control to operate autonomously. On the exterior, interstitial spaces between the arranged boxes are gardens and patios. The overlap of the boxes on the interior creates thresholds and highlight. Besides to continuing activities in the home, the separation into individual volumes is also intended to avoid chaos on some activities that run simultaneously. Visit Bates Masi Architects – here.
